Jarred lay in bed with the two women resting against him. He wondered how demons, as evil as they were, could be such good lovers so quickly. Tina was much better in Emma’s body than Emma ever was. They were both new to their flesh coverings, but already they were both at least as good as the nurse he had picked up a few years back. At the time, he was absolutely sure he would never find anyone better, and now he wondered.

“Do you think men are born with a tendency towards good or evil?” Jarred wondered as he recuperated.

“Hmmm,” Jenny said. “I’m pretty sure they are born innocent, and the choices they make throughout their lives determine if they are good or evil.” She smiled and ran her hand over Jarred’s hips and abdomen teasing him.

“That’s what I was thinking,” Jarred agreed. “It’s about the choices. Consider this then,” he said. “Do you think humans have an inclination towards making good or evil choices, or is it their environment that drives them one way or the other?”

“I don’t think it is just the choices they make,” Tina suggested. “Environment might give them a nudge, but I think the intention behind the choice sways the balance.”

Jarred considered her words. “So if someone was desperate, and acted out to relieve some of the desperation they felt by stealing something that would help them, you’re saying it is less evil than stealing to hurt someone?”

“That’s a pretty lame example, but yeah. The intention is what makes the action eviler,” she estimated and laughed at the word ‘eviler.’

“I’m leaning towards, stealing is stealing, no matter the intention,” Jarred professed.

Jenny perked up with a thought. “If that’s the case, is killing to rob someone the same as killing in a war, or killing to avoid being killed, or to save someone else?” she asked.

Jarred laughed. “I see your point.”

“Why are you suddenly interested in the nature of evil?” Jenny asked, happy that her attentions to Jarred’s lower extremities were producing the desired effect. Tina noticed as well and waited.

“I think I have a plan to accelerate the execution of my quota,” he answered.

Jenny was satisfied that Jarred was sufficiently stiff. She swung a leg over him and positioned herself. While she was off balance and looking down, Tina made her move. Tina sat up quickly and shoved Jenny off of the bed. She landed with a thud and a yelp. Before she could get up, Tina had replaced Jenny and aggressively mounted Jarred.

“You bitch!” she screamed as she got up. She wasn’t used to being bested by anyone, and she didn’t like having to wait either, but the glare from Jarred told her not to interrupt.

Morning arrived. Jarred felt better than he had in some time. He wondered if it had something to do with the girls, the ring he had absorbed or being able to let loose a bit and kill. They might be soulless, but they were still in human form; Jarred got up to relieve himself.

Jarred sat in the kitchen alone and schemed while the coffee brewed. He needed people to pull off what he was planning. Officer Walsh’s criminal contact was a short walk from Roxbury Crossing. After talking with Jenny and Tina, they would start there.

“Coffeeeee,” Jenny droned as she walked into the room drawn by the scent. She had been ridden hard and put away wet, but a hot shower and some makeup would have her looking like a million bucks in no time. Jenny poured herself a cup of coffee and joined Jarred at the table.

“Yesterday, when I told the cop no, I expected him to argue with me. Instead, he sent us on our way,” Jarred said. “The more I think about it, the stranger his reaction was.”

“You used compulsion on him,” Jenny said. “It was strong too. I felt it even though it was not directed at me.”

“Compulsion?” Jarred asked. “Is that another ability I’m supposed to know how to use?”

“Not necessarily,” she said. “Not all of the Devil’s sons can compel people to do what they want.”

“But I can,” Jarred said. He wondered how this could fit into his plan. “How does it work? Yesterday was obviously unintentional no matter how convenient it was.”

“Only seen it used a few times. I’ve never been able to use it,” she responded sleepily. “It works best on beings with weaker minds than the one using it.”

“Well, hopefully it works today, or we might be testing your theory about my immortality,” Jarred grinned. “Get Tina up and get ready to rumble,” he directed her.

It was hot for early June, and the air conditioning on the T was welcomed by everyone.

As they climbed the stairs and exited the station, a woman declared to her companion, “It’s hot as hell out here today.”

“Not even close,” Tina responded and grinned evilly at her.

Jarred laughed. “Don’t be freaking out the population,” he said. “Well, not yet.” He led them down Tremont street until they came to a laundromat. “If I’m not mistaken, this is where Walsh picks up his weekly stipend,” Jarred said as he reached for the door handle. “This is where the trip gets interesting.” The trio entered the establishment. The clerk was alone inside, and a single machine could be heard running.

The clerk caught Jarred’s eye immediately. She had long red hair and a pale complexion with just a hint of freckles. Her eyes danced with intelligence as her smile engaged the small group that had just walked in. He particularly liked the matching bright orange glow of her aura. “Hi,” she said. “How can I help you?” A buzzer sounded as a dryer stopped spinning.

“I’m looking for the leader of The Crocs,” Jarred said, smiling back, “can you direct me to him?”

The smile left the woman’s face for a moment but quickly returned. “Who?” she asked.

“I don’t know his name, yet,” Jarred laughed. “I just know that this is where the crooked cops come to collect their protection money.”

She put her elbow on the counter and leaned forward, so her head rested on her hand. Jarred mimicked her so that their faces were only a few inches apart. Jarred noted her scent, it was subtle and sweet. “Are you sure you are in the right place, love?” she asked in a hushed voice.

“I am,” Jarred whispered back.

She moved fast. Very fast, but not fast enough. Jenny moved faster and grabbed the red head’s wrist before the knife she wielded was able to make it to Jarred’s head. Surprise crossed her face as Jenny began to squeeze and put pressure on her wrist. The woman’s other hand shot down below the counter where she retrieved a second blade. She tried to strike Jarred with it, but Tina intercepted her and grabbed her wrist the same way Jenny had.

Jarred jumped into her mind for a brief moment to get the information he needed from her. Britney was a killer through and through.“Do you have any other demons on standby, Jenny?” Jarred asked as he looked her up and down. Her figure was amazing. “I’d like to add her to our collection.”

“I do!” she answered ecstatically. Tina and Jenny effortlessly dragged the woman across the counter and stood her up on their side. She struggled and kicked, but there was no way she could overpower the two demons that restrained her.

“Who are you people!” she demanded to know. “It doesn’t matter,” she said. “You’re as good as dead.”

“Take her for me,” Jarred commanded. “I’m sure with a demon in her, she will please us all.”

Britney’s eyes grew wide; she wasn’t sure what they were talking about, but she was relatively sure that she was about to die. Jenny grinned evilly and reached up with her free hand and began choking Britney while saying something in a language Jarred didn’t recognize. Britney, after thrashing for a while, went limp in Jenny’s hand the same way Emma had, and then suddenly perked up. Jenny released her. “Welcome to the plane of Earth,” she said. “Say hello to Jarred, Wendy.”

“Hellooo, Jarred,” she said sexily, with a cute yet evil grin. “Still negative sixteen,” she said more seriously.

“Follow our lead,” Jarred said, ignoring her. He leaned over the counter and pushed the button under it. The door at the end of the room buzzed for a few seconds. “That’s where we have to go. Get the door, Jenny,” Jarred said as he pushed the button again.

It’s unfortunate that the demons do not retain the memories of the body they possess, this would have been easier if it were so. Jarred had Wendy lead the group, but he had to direct her down the halls from the memories he had picked up earlier. Leon Murry should be at the end of the hall. Three well dressed, dangerous-looking men, were standing in the hallway, chatting quietly.

Wendy walked up to them like she knew them forever. She tried to run her hand over the stubble on one man’s face. He grabbed her hand quickly. He knew better than to let this psychotic bitch anywhere near his body. She was dangerous to friend or foe, depending on her mood.

“Careful, Timmy,” one of the men near the door said, laughing at him.

“What are you up to Britney?” he asked suspiciously. “Who are they?” he nodded to three behind her as he threw her hand sideways.

She let her hand fall down to her side. “Them? They’re with me. That’s all you need to know,” Wendy told him flatly.

He eyed her suspiciously and then moved to stand in front of Jarred. “Hands up,” he said. “I have to search you.”

Jarred did as instructed, and submitted to a quick pat-down. There didn’t seem to be a reason to resist.

Timmy moved to Jenny and Tina. He spent a little extra time on them as they teased him with seductive looks. Tina licked her lips as he checked under her breasts a second time. “They’re clean,” he called back to the other two with a grin. “Well, they don’t have any weapons,” he laughed and stepped aside.

One of the other men opened the door. Both men followed behind the four of them, Timmy remained outside.

Inside, there was a group of men talking quietly and playing cards at a table near the door. Beyond them was a desk with a nice deep red aura behind it. Jarred pointed at the man at the desk when Wendy looked back at him. The conversation at the card table stopped as the men stared at her as she led the way to the desk. Green crocodile tattoos could be seen on a few of the men.

Leon looked up from the ledger he was working on and closed it. He sat back and looked the group over before speaking. “What have you brought me, Britney?” he asked politely.

Wendy wasn’t sure how to respond. Jarred hadn’t given her any details. “This is Jarred,” she said, ushering him forward.

“And?” Leon asked.

Jarred stepped forward. “Mr. Murry,” Jarred addressed him. “I am in need of personnel for a coordinated attack on the city. That being said, I have a business proposition for you.”

Leon took in every detail he could about Jarred. “You have me at a disadvantage,” he said. “You seem to know me, but I do not remember ever meeting you.”

“We have never met,” Jarred said. “I have a unique ability that I used to find you.”

“Have you gone soft?” Leon asked Britney. “You know better than to bring clowns like this in here.” He looked to the two men that followed them in, “Get rid of them.”

The two men drew their firearms and pointed them at Jarred. “Do you value these men?” Jarred asked and walked over to one of them. The two men had redirected the guns at each other, they were under Jarred’s control now. “Tom here is scared to death right now. He doesn’t know what’s happening. Eric would most likely piss himself if I let him.”

Leon watched what was happening, it was enthralling. “They mean nothing to me,” he answered.

“Ouch, sorry, Tom. Daddy doesn’t love you,” Jarred said.

Both men slowly redirected their guns at Leon. The men at the card table began to stir. Leon held up a dismissive hand at them, and they hesitantly sat back down.

“Care to reconsider talking business?” Jarred asked without concern. Jenny, Tina, and Wendy all grinned evilly. The look on Wendy/Britney’s face did not escape his notice.

“Everyone out,” Leon said. The men at the table grumbled as they left, one man made a slitting motion across his throat as he stared at Jarred. Jarred had Tom and Eric put their guns back in their holsters and released them. Eric immediately let loose in his pants, the wet spot in the front spread quickly. Tina laughed out loud and pointed so the other girls would see it, and they laughed with her. Tom and Eric looked to Leon, “You heard me, out!” Leon yelled at them. They scurried from the room much faster than the others had. “I have questions,” Leon stated.

“I’m Jarred Chaos,” Jarred introduced himself with a grin. “You’re questions will be answered in time. We’re going to make a lot of money from this, but I want everything in place by July 1st. Here is what I have in mind.”
